12.18.15  We followed up with Duke and his new parents last week and they are doing great.  He is a very happy dog!  His new dad takes him out on one or two walks a day and he gets to be inside the house most of the time, which he LOVES.  After living with his previous home all of his life, this was a big change for Duke, but it really is the perfect fit and he adjusted immediately.   It was interesting to observe him when he first met his new parents, he saw them pull up on the car and his little tail wagged.  It was if they had known each other for years.  We are so grateful he found his new forever home before the holidays.

12.7.15.  Every holiday season we hear people saying they want to surprise someone with a pet as a gift.  It is a very bad idea.  In fact, we think it is the #1 bad gift idea for the holidays.  Keep the following in mind  if you are thinking of adopting a pet or giving one as a surprise gift for the holidays.
